His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is the Crown Prince of Dubai, and has been appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE. 

On 8 September 2006, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum entrusted his son, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, with the position of Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. In this role, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed leads and inspires his team in the Government of Dubai towards fulfilling the vision that UAE’s wise leadership has mapped out for the emirate.  

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed works tirelessly to lead Dubai's journey towards a global City of the Future, and cement Dubai’s position as one of the world’s premier destinations for living, working, innovation, creativity and excellence. 

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan draws on practical experience in leadership and government which he acquired under the guidance of his father, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whom he has accompanied at the Council and on tours.  

His highness’ duties include overseeing comprehensive strategic plans and monitoring their implementation to achieve the emirate’s sustainable development goals. He aims to solidify Dubai's position in for finance, business, trade, tourism, and services, driving the emirate’s leadership on the global stage. 

As part of the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan was appointed Crown Prince of Dubai on February 1, 2008, with his role expanding to include broader responsibilities. 

Under His Highness’ leadership, the Council issued key decrees and endorsed policies and initiatives to accelerate Dubai’s growth and development. This contributed to improving living standards and solidifying Dubai’s position as one of the world’s top emerging cities in the world.
